AN OVERVIEW

"Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name". That was a driving factor in the owners' vision of How Art Thou Cafe and Wine Bar. Add to that a creative finesse, fresh, local ingredients and suppliers to help create the menu, and a vast array of beverage options from specialty juices to craft beers to fine wine, and you've found How Art Thou Cafe on James Island.

 

ATMOSPHERE

The cafe is tucked into the Terrace Theatre shopping plaza on Maybank Hwy. Patrons can choose to sit at the bar, out on the patio, or at a table across from the house piano where live music plays many evenings (and guests themselves are encouraged to play if a professional musician is not up on stage already). In particular, this place has evolved into a great venue for live Jazz music. If guests would like to feel extra comfy, they can slide into a seat on the couch or one of the leather chairs facing a beauty of a glass table made from a giant wagon wheel.

 

Local art covers the walls in this place. There is no shortage of fine things to look at. If patrons see a piece they particularly like, they can take it home with them. This is a laid-back place where friends can gather for a cup of coffee or glass of wine, and the staff would love to whip you up a sandwich or some of their popular house salsa. Drop on by for dinner or drinks.

 

Hours: Monday: Closed. Tuesday - Sunday: 4:00 - 10:00 p.m.
