72 Queen Street, Charleston, SC 29401 • (843) 577-2337

AN OVERVIEW

Poogan's Porch is a mid to upper scale Lowcountry restaurant with a southern influence and a modern twist that opened its doors in 1976. Guests will find pleasing menus for lunch and dinner daily, as well as brunch Saturday and Sunday. Menu highlights include pimiento cheese fritters, pulled pork or crab cake benedict, pan seared jumbo scallops, bourbon braised short ribs, and plantation fried chicken. Chefs incorporate local ingredients from Blackbird Farms, Thackeray Farms, and Joseph Fields Farms in various menu options.

THE ATMOSPHERE

Poogan's Porch takes up residence in just that, an updated French Quarter Charleston residence that has been converted into four main dining rooms and an outdoor porch for seating options. Each dining room is slightly different, but all convey the feeling of a charmful, welcoming environment with a clean look and beautiful wood floors. The staff here pride themselves in hospitality and enjoy making restaurant goers feel at home.

FUN FACT

The namesake of the restaurant was a small Wheaton Terrier that came with the place when the property was puchased in the mid seventies. The beloved Poogan faithfully sat on the porch welcoming guests and acting as restaurant mascot until the end of his doggie days.
