Jennifer Carter

Jennifer Carter

Jennifer is a Clemson Tiger cheering, nature-loving, surfboard weilding mother of two, married to her college sweetheart, David. In her travels she has sat with baby tiger cubs, ridden an elephant, ziplined through the forest, climbed Machu Pichu, and explored East Asia. A certifiable Charleston native (we checked her credentials) wink, she is probably the most qualified of any of us folks to tell you all about her hometown here in the Lowcountry.

Yo, Carmen - How to Visit Spain Without Leaving the States at Spoleto Festival USA

Accompanied by live musicians in the background of the stage, Maria Pagés and company gave us a breathtaking performance and left us foot-tapping in our seats with their one-and-a-half hour flamenco adaptation of the famous opera, Carmen. Pagés, who grew up in Seville, Spain and is famous for her modern interpretation of flamenco, not only choreographed the performance by was also the principal dancer in Yo, Carmen.

Stomp, (clap, clap, clap) stomp, (clap, clap) stomp, stomp,….olé! “Have we been transported to sunny Spain?” I asked myself. Unfortunately, no.

Buggin' Out: My Family's Adventure at the Magnolia Gardens Ladybug Release

When you come across a person who uses the words: “summertime in Charleston” and “bugs” in their conversation, you are quick to assume that they are talking about undesirable pests. Admittedly, there are lots of mosquitoes, no-see-ums, or, even worse, the dreaded Palmetto bugs here. Your first thought probably wasn't “ladybugs”… “Wait, ladybugs?” Yes, ladybugs (and to be fair to the ladybug population, there are male ladybugs too…man-bugs.) All bad jokes aside, you can find the biggest gathering of ladybugs that Charleston, SC has to offer on a hot, summer day at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, America’s Oldest Romantic Garden.

Client Testimonials

  • A Charleston resident suggested a Traveling Ink concierge might be able to help me. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this was one of the best pieces of advice I could have received. My friends thought I was an organizational wizard even though I kept telling them it was Traveling Ink, not me.

    ~ Nicky H.
  • We so enjoyed our time in Charleston. Thank you for all your insight! I am recommending your services to everyone I know who is traveling to Charleston!

    ~Kathryn C.
  • Traveling Ink planned the three full days we would have in Charleston, how we would get from one place to another, places to eat, and what the costs would be. To add to the challenge, we had to change the day of one of the main attractions because rain had been predicted. They handled all the changes with out missing a step.

    ~ Harriett H.
  • These Charleston pros do a phenomenal job in any setting. Audra was our point person and is a pleasure to work with. She is laid back and can work with any request.

    ~ Nicole P.
